June 23rd, 2008 - Welcome to my site (A work in progress. Still.)

Unfortunately, I'm generally so busy that I never seem to have time to update my site.

A couple of exciting things happened recently.  Firstly, some of my photography will be on display at the Village Coffee Roastery in Scottsdale. (corner of Hayden and Via De Ventura).  I've been going there for years because they have the best coffee I've ever had.  Secondly, I've just completed phase two of the Extreme Arizona website, which is a complete re-implementation of the site with a lot of additional features.

    Extreme Arizona

Extreme Arizona conducts tours in the Arizona desert, and also rents ATVs and motorcycles, as well as personal watercraft. They had a need to provide their customers with information about the available vehicles, and produce rental estimates based on customer selections. The site was constructed with PHP, MySQL and AJAX, and features a management console to allow self-maintenance of prices, page text and more.  I've just completed phase two and am in the process of rolling out the new site.  I will update this section soon.

Most importantly (to me), recently I asked Lisa if I could display some of my photos and she agreed.  My advice to you is to go there immediately, have an espresso, and check out the artwork...

July 15th, 2007 - Fountain Hills Hourly Weather Chart

The chart is based on data collected from NOAA's National Weather Service page. Specifically the data is from Scottsdale Municipal Airport (KDSL) which is the closest airport to Fountain Hills. I have a script that grabs the XML feed from their site every hour and stores the information in a database. The purpose I had in mind when producing this page was to create a useful demonstration of data collection from XML feeds and conversion of that information into a chart or other useful visualization.
